THE BIG IDEA

CEP believe the next big advance in light aircraft propulsion will be a battery powered, twin motor, contra rotating system with fixed pitch propellers. Since this has now become technically feasible, we are building one to prove it.

OUR COMMITMENT

With our partner companies in propeller, motor, battery and electronic control technology, CEP has designed and is building the world’s first electric, contra rotating, reversible, fixed pitch propeller propulsion system for light aircraft.

Designed as a fully self-contained unit including batteries it will bolt directly in place of a traditional piston engine at the aircraft firewall.

WHY ELECTRIC?

There are many reasons to go electric but we believe the extreme simplicity of electric motors, very low maintenance and operating costs and the game-changing performance that only electric propulsion can offer, will define a completely new generation of light aircraft propulsion systems.

WHY CONTRA ROTATION?

Contra rotating propeller systems are acknowledged to be the best form of propeller propulsion but have never been used in light aviation because of their extreme complexity and high cost, only military aircraft use them.
